[U] Merck's Footprint @ UT Austin Medical Campus: Real Estate Moves, Updated...

I'll have more on this, once I more closely parse all the recent agenda items and minutes from the Board of Regents of the University of Texas system. Buried inside are the notes on which facilities (on or near the Dell Medical campus complex) will actually house the Merck IT hub. A media report uses a pay-wall to block general access (but then indicates the story contained errors, without describing them. Charming. . . .), but we do know the Regents were required by applicable law to vote in open session on it all -- so it has been disclosed. . . somewhere.

So we will continue our hunt, for the juicy details, even as we keep Houston and the Big Easy in our meditations. This is from an earlier announcement, and should be read in conjunction with the hiring notice we put up over the weekend:

. . . .[Merck] has acquired is considering a location at Dell Med or elsewhere in the Innovation District, roughly focused on the area around 15th and Trinity streets but with an economic spillover that is bound to spread all over downtown, according to a Friday announcement by the city of Austin and city documents posted online. . . .

UPDATE: see the comments to the immediately prior post, regarding Chris Christie, and the giving away of abusive tax incentives -- to a Fred Hassan crony. Now you know -- onward to a gloriously clear and softly warm August morning here, back in the city of big shoulders. . . smile.
