Pretty trivial, but for the first time ever, I just downloaded TikTok from the App Store.
I won't sign in, and I won't open it. . . But I will wait to see what happens come
[Let us be clear, though -- the law as written (at subsecton (g)(6)) only allows the preznit to certify that a "solution" by divestiture -- to non-China entities -- has been completed. There is no provision for his supposed 90-day "extension". The bipartisan Congress did not grant him that power. Full stop.]
Will it vanish? Or will it continue?
Updated, X2: Tangerine 2.0 says he may sign an executive order to re-instate TikTok. The only plausibly lawful way that works (as we indicated above, and in this Friday post). . . is if he certifies, after a multi-agency review, that there has been "substantial progress" on a deal to divest the US operations, to non-state-enemy controlled forces.
How exactly might a multi-agency review occur in under three elapsed days? Over King Weekend 2025? Color me... skeptical.
We shall see. Onward.
