Mastermind, On The Loose: Steve Bannon's "We Build A Wall" Charity Fraud Cases Lead To ANOTHER Five Year Sentence, Beginning Monday... No Surprise.

The time has now long passed, for faux outrage (in the GOP) about the Trumpian levels of corruption, on so many, many fronts -- but I want to remind the public that, as Mr. Timothy Shea was sentenced to over five years in federal prison, yesterday. . . as he departed, Donald Trump granted a pardon to the mastermind, one Steve Bannon. A pardon, for nothing more than old style mafioso behavior -- likely stealing over $3 million, in the life of the scam. [Just one of my backgrounders on it, here.]

From the irrepressible InnerCityPress publisher/reporter (via live-blog then), in the SDNY courtrooms -- a great public service (do consider donating, at that link, if you value independent journalism):

. . .This Court has previously sentenced Mr. Kolfage to 51 months, and Mr. Badolato to 36 months. Both have medical problems that Mr. Shea doesn't. I sentence Mr. Shea to 63 months in prison.

Defense: We ask for surrender in 90 days. AUSA: The current standard is 45 days. . . .

Judge: The surrender date is October 23.

Defense: We'd like a prison in Colorado. . . .

Judge: We are adjourned. . . .

Now you know. Disgusting, that Tangerine pardoned Steve Bannon out of what was straight up consumer fraud -- stealing charity funds. There is simply nothing "fake" about stealing from moms and pops. . . all to NOT build a wall. How much (in total, over the years 2017 to 2021) did Bannon pocket, for himself? We will now likely never know.

Onward, just the same.
