Just For Grins -- Here's What The Med Tech / Device / Solutions Companies Chatted With Congress About, Thus Far In 2023...

Here is the run down for Abbott Labs, a '34 Act reporting company that sits on the next tier down -- for life science companies (by market cap), through three fourths of 2023. [We will hopefully get to Baxter International, later this week.]

The spend up at Abbott Park is pretty predictable, given the company's glucose monitoring and IV solutions footprints.

And it still must derive revenue from the old Ross Labs business -- infant and geriatric canned nutrition products -- given that it still lobbies on the topic. As a device maker, it also looks at some diagnostics proposals. And as ever -- with all the old-line, highly profitable life science companies -- it is working to drop its federal taxation footprint. Here's the rest:

. . .Public Law 117-2 The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021; Public Law 116-123 Coronavirus Preparedness & Response Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2020; Public Law 116-136 CARES (Coronavirus Act, Relief, and Economic Security) Act; S. 2477/H.R. 1770 Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act; S. 2922 Advancing Research for Chronic Pain Act of 2023; H.R. 2369 Verifying Accurate Leading-edge IVCT Development (VALID) Act of 2021; H.R. 3723 Medical Device Electronic Labeling Act. . . .

Proposals related to U.S. global health programs and pandemic preparedness; Proposals to advance global virus surveillance; Proposals related to preserving critical medical supply chains. . . .

Proposals regarding the reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Programs and WIC Program; Proposals related to the reauthorization of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018; Proposals related to access to infant formula [Editor's Note: The old Ross Labs business]. . . .

Proposals related to VA coverage of continuous glucose monitors. . . .

Public Law 115-97 The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act; Public Law 117-169 Inflation Reduction Act of 2022; Proposals to reform domestic and international tax structures. . . .

Proposals related to data privacy/data collection, usage and retention; H.R. 3108 Medical Therapy Nutrition Act of 2021. . . .

Now you know. Gray but warm here -- as we hit mid-week. . . grinning. Onward.
