Aging Hubble Is Once Again Placed In Safe Mode -- To Recalibrate Data Relays...

As ever, the able team is working on a solution. . . but this tweet underscores the urgency, and importance -- of getting that next-gen [name redacted] space telescope to its L1 point -- and underway, discovering new interstellar origin / space science.

We have been very fortunate, to have seen nearly two decades of near-perfect service from Hubble, but the decays occassioned by solar storms and space radiation. . . well, they may be reaching the "last straw -- that breaks the camel's back" moment.

We are both thankful for this team -- and aware that "patching" can only go so far -- eventually, it will simply. . . age out.

I am confident they will be able to bring it back online, perhaps before Friday -- but here is the latest:

. . .Hubble’s science instruments went into safe mode on Monday after experiencing synchronization issues with internal spacecraft communications. Science observations have been temporarily suspended while the team investigates the issue. The instruments remain in good health. . . .

If we don't connect before then, do have a safe and happy Halloween, one and all -- smiling. . . .
