After 10 Spot-On Flights, Ingenuity Mars Copter Has Logged A Longitudinal Mile Of In-Flight Terrain...

The history-making firsts. . . just keep coming for this latest NASA Mars mission.

After flawlessly sticking her tenth landing (Simone Biles style!), on Sunday -- the helicopter / rotor-craft is now in possession of a mythical "One Mile Flown" pylon / medal. Here's the latest (from the NASA / JPL Twitter feed):

. . .The #MarsHelicopter’s success today marks its 1-mile total distance flown. It targeted an area called "Raised Ridges." This is the most complex flight yet w/ 10 distinct waypoints and a record height of 40 ft (12 m). Its scouting is aiding @NASAPersevere. . . .

Grinning ear to ear -- on this fine Monday morning; baby girl back to her sea-side Mexican village, come Wednesday. . . . but I'll see her again in early September, for a week -- in the high central Colorado Rockies, with all my now-grown ones. . . .
