[U] "Pedantic Nit-Picking" -- By Trump Lawyers -- Is "Damaging" Unreasonably And Unlawfully Detained Children, Every Day...

In the Flores litigation in the federal courts in downtown LA, the ACLU is. . . no longer being polite. Nor should it be.

These are children -- and the government feels it may argue about moronic inconsequential niceties -- rather than provide toothpaste, soap, phone calls and bedding -- and feels it need not (in direct violation of the Flores settlement terms) move each child to available, state licensed, UNLOCKED facilities [also known as early childhood education centers]. . . as soon as possible. Who are these monsters!? ACLU motion support brief just filed (30 page PDF):

. . . .While [Trump] Defendants’ pedantic Opposition nitpicks at details in class members’ declarations, the factual disputes raised by Defendants are inconsequential to adjudication of the motion. . . .

. . .[T]here are no material factual disputes with regards [Trump] Defendants’ written policies that undeniably result in denials and delays in class members being promptly released to sponsors under Paragraph 14 of the Settlement, class members not being expeditiously transferred to available and appropriate licensed placements under Paragraphs 12A and 19, and class members not having adequate telephonic contact with parents or other sponsors. . . .

UPDATED -- a supplemental brief, defending the admissiblity of the declarants' evidence is now on file. It runs 29 pages, as a PDF. End update.

Monstrous. Completely. . . monstrous. Out, now, for the weekend.
