[U] We Grinned All Weekend: Banksy’s Five Years’ Prescient Genius — Subversive High (Performance) Art.

UPDATED -- On Tuesday afternoon, with some dry legal analysis -- and sense of irony appreciation -- related to the below weekend events.

Regular readers know how closely we followed him, in October 2013, in his month long residency — around New York City.

But this clearly tops all of that — $1.8 million worth — in hilarious fashion!

[If you don’t know what Banksy pulled off, at Southeby’s, this weekend. . . Go here.]

Watch it. Pure genius. He sold the painting in 2013 with a specific stipulation that it not ever be auctioned, as “commodified art”.
. . . .This, in case it was ever put up for auction.  . . .

Priceless. Flawless. Art cannot be commoditized — that’s my takeaway, per Banksy’s philosophical canons. Search CNN, or BBC — if you need to. But man, is this a glorious reminiscence. . . .
