Ms. Sanders claims the "threat" is real -- so who cares if the "videos were faked"? [The second update is even more troubling than Ms. Sanders' feckless nonsense.]
Update Two is that Prime Minister May (via The Guardian UK) has rebuked Trump, and publicly so:
. . .A statement from No 10 [Downing Street] said: “Britain First seeks to divide communities by their use of hateful narratives that peddle lies and stoke tensions. They cause anxiety to law-abiding people.A public rebuke, from our closest ally -- and our most staunch supporter. Charming. Well done, Cheeto-in-Charge.
“British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudiced rhetoric of the far right which is the antithesis of the values this country represents, decency, tolerance and respect. It is wrong for the president to have done this.”. . . .
[End, updated portions.]
Well. I suppose. . . we should thank him -- we who believe in the First Amendment's No Establishment Clause. This is. . . evidence. Evidence of odious, unlawful bias -- in the Executive Branch. In the office of the POTUS. By the President, personally. And it will sink his chances for Muslim Ban 3.0. That is the only remotely happy face I can put on it all.
Crazy. Here's The Guardian (UK) on it.
. . . .Donald Trump has retweeted three anti-Muslim videos posted by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of the far-right group Britain First who has been convicted of religiously aggravated harassment.
Trump, who has 43.5 million followers on the network, retweeted three separate tweets by Fransen on Wednesday, which all included separate, unverified anti-Islamic videos. . . .
Sorry. I cannot leave it at that. Mr. Trump, you shame all open minded Americans, before the world. Retweeting convicts' videos. Disgusting. I am off on a walk-about for a bit, in the cold air. It is clear by now that 45 knows he will lose on Muslim Ban 3.0 at the Supremes, and so he is just. . . pandering. I feel more than a little nauseous. Out.
