Is CafePharma Right? Is This Thursday "D-Day" -- For Legacy Schering Reps?

Several threads have recently appeared on CafePharma, each suggesting that all the U.S. sales reps from legacy Schering-Plough expect to hear whether they've been severed in the bust-up, now styled as a Merck transaction integration effort, or whether they've been retained -- via series of phone calls -- this Thursday, January 7, 2010. Do go see it all, over at CafePharma, but here is a taste of the flavor:

. . . .Last year in the layoffs, I was called very early (7:45 a.m.) and was retained. One of my partners did not get his call until 10:00 and he was terminated.

My Merck counterpart told me yesterday that their boss told them that they would be called in alphabetical order. . . .

~~~~~~~~~
It will not take them long to roll through the list.
They read a lawyer prepared script and they are done.
Your packet will arrive via FedEx with all the particulars. . . .
Good luck to all affected. It did not have to turn out this way.
Condor;
Confirmed Thursday 7th--stay home and wait by the phone.
Either you or Ed at Pharmalot posted info when Lilly did there layoff showing where Lilly filled information with NJ dept of Labor giving notice to the WARN act and the number of people being let go. I'm not sure how one would find that info out, but it would be nice to know how many people are going to be affected on Thursday.
