OTC Generic Version of Schering-Plough's MiraLAX® Approved

Yesterday, the FDA approved a generic version of MiraLAX®, the OTC laxative made by Schering-Plough. MiraLAX will likely only generate $200 million in annual sales revenue in 2009 -- so it is not a franchise offering -- but encouraging to all of us seeking lower-priced health treatments, and to Perrigo Pharmaceuticals, the generic's manufacturer.

Perrigo refers to its store-branded version as Polyethylene Glycol 3350. It will ship immediately. This adds an option to the available "beind the counter" alternatives -- listed here at FDA.
