Hardly Surprising: "LBGTQ+ Friendly" States See Higher Vaccination Rates, For Mpox (2022-2023)...

This is good news -- if you are fortunate enough to live in a Blue state, or at least in a Blue city (if in an overall Red state, like Nashville and Memphis are, to. . . Tennessee). Even so, with federal cuts underway, there are threats to the gains made in Blue states in 2022-23.

So 2025 rates of infection are rising for Clade 1b, even though it is highly likely that, in such Democratic states, public health outcomes are more favorable (here in 2025), than in ruby red Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Mizzou and, of course. . . Texas. Here's that bit:

. . .U.S. states with stronger LGBTQ+ equality laws saw significantly higher mpox vaccination rates during the 2022–2023 epidemic compared to states with weaker protections, according to a study by CUNY SPH researchers published in the Annals of Epidemiology. . . .

The association between state LGBTQ+ equality and vaccination uptake was most pronounced in the early months of the outbreak when vaccine access was limited but persisted throughout the outbreak.

"Our findings suggest that during health crises, in addition to offering free care, policies that promote equity may play a role in improving health care. . . .

Now you know. The Trump 2.0 agenda is a Nineteenth Century. . . scourge, top to bottom. Out.
