[U] Martin Shkreli's Oddly Tangential Remarks -- Sort Of The Opposite Of Real "Reputation Repair"

Mr. Shkreli gave an interview to a crypto- media outlet called Blockworks -- ostensibly to hype the old but supposedly retooled 2017 era Gödel software (as vapor- / free- ware). . . "but wait, there's more!" now IMPROVED by being linked to a stupid Shkreli.inu coin, as a payment mechanism for people volunteering to run distributed computes, at home, to find drug models / candidates -- in silico.

If that sounds like a word salad. . . it is because. . . it is. And the idea that the failed Gödel software suite is going anywhere is just. . . precious.

But I want to focus on his claim in that interview that he is busy on reputation repair. Uh-huh. The first step to repair is to acknowledge one's responsibility for what went wrong, in the first place.

His on the record take is. . . (predictably) the exact opposite of that. Martin is banned from pharma and the securities businesses -- both for life -- under final federal court orders, because he violated the anti-fraud laws, and he violated the Sherman and Clayton Acts. . . repeatedly, in open emails and phone calls -- some of which he made from prison on an illicit cell phone. He orchestrated a $64 million heist from various health insurers across the nation (wantonly overcharging them), all by choking off generic competition for at least three years, using unlawful means.

THAT is why USDC Chief Judge (Manhattan) Denise Cote. . . banned him, for life -- from anything pharma related.

His version of his conduct is that a dumb piece of paperwork is in his way, but only for the moment -- thus:

. . .And what’s unfortunate is that I was the user of the software in my pharmaceutical life, which at the moment is over due to a judge’s decision, but in my past life I bought this kind of software....

The software in essence just calculates the energy of some molecules. It’s not something that is novel. People have known how to do this since the seventies. But computer power has increased so much [it can be run over the web]
. . . .

That moment, Martin -- your "end of pharmaceutical life" -- will last until you return, reincarnated. . . as a sea-slug.

But perhaps that denigrates sea slugs. . . I dunno. My apologies.

If Mr. Shkreli really wants to get unbanned in about a decade or so, he will need to start by saying "I now know my lawless attempt to kill off competition for a life saving generic drug, after increasing the price of it by 5,000%. . . was a completely deplorable move, ethically and legally. I am truly sorry. I want to make amends, by building a cheaper way to help researchers go about the work of drug discovery, at the very early stages."

Oh. . . and: "I will no longer try to use a shit coin, with my name on it, as a pseudo currency in the software compute cycles. . . because I would be the primary beneficiary, personally, from any increase in the trading value of that shitcoin." [It presently trades at about 1/50,000 of a penny, per. And Martin personally holds almost all of them. He hopes by doling some out, he will inflate the value of his remaining hoard. Oldest con in crypto-.]

So -- yes. All in all, the above is a complete. . . do over.

And the NY state and NC AGs -- as well as the FTC. . . are soon to send him a request for a report, in writing, under oath. . . as to how the druglike company. . . does not violate his injunction -- and what his role, precisely, in the ownership structure entails. . . it is the old Gödel junk, in truth.

[Update @ 11:40 AM EDT: It seems that this morning, still struggling to find cash (to pay lawyers). . . he's launched an "OnlyFans". Ugh. I will not look -- or cover it, or even link it. Ppl who look in on it, deserve the perma-burnt optic nerves they will suffer with, and the deeply-scarred memories. . . that they will take with them -- for the rest of their lives. Ick.]

And that's a morning wrap. . . fun day ahead, by the lake -- picnics and lunch-time symphony / concerts. . . smiling. Out.

It seems very hard to follow all the schemes that Martin is doing. Thank you for helping us to see .

It is my pleasure -- but one would be hard pressed to make up a stranger story, if one tried.

He is a fascinating look into the heart of someone with autistic tendencies, no moral compass, and a raging inferiority complex. . . but he is also at bottom, in many ways, still emotionally a seven year old.

He can only respond to hurts by. . . hurting others, in turn. Some times, not even the ones he imagines. . . hurt him.

Namaste. . . .
