Following Improving Rates Of Hospitalization In Philly, The City Reverses Indoor Masking Rules...

Unlike USDC Judge Mizelle, the health commissioner in Philadelphia now chooses to follow the science. As rates of hospitalization have declined, and the next wave of COVID-19 variants are seemingly less severe that earlier variants, the city has moved to take down the indoor masking rules. That is thoughtful leadership.

Here's the latest, from the city of brotherly love:

. . .Philadelphia is reversing course on the face-mask mandate imposed just days ago and rescinding it, citing improving numbers for hospitalizations and case counts, the Associated Press reported. The Board of Health voted on the matter on Thursday, according to the Philadelphia health department.

It did not provide data to back up the decision but said more would be available Friday. The news comes as face masks have again become a hot-button issue in the U.S. with the Justice Department seeking to appeal a federal judge's overturning of the federal mandate. . . .

It is interesting that at least United Airlines (and its partner lines) now offer refunds and credits -- to passengers who do not want to be in a closed mailing tube, breathing only recycled air, without the scientifically supported protection of everyone being required to mask up, whether vaccinated -- or more likely, not so. That's real data Faux-News is not likely to highlight. Smile.
