Texas Gov. Abbott's Lunacy... Knows No Bounds. He Is No Emperor. Full Stop.

The ACLU and/or R.A.I.C.E.S. will shortly successfully move to enjoin this nonsense, in federal court -- as beyond his power, and as violative of our international treaty obligations. [Just as he will be estopped from cutting off the pay of the Legislature. . . .] This is an increasingly embittered loser (at the national level), impotently-flailing as only a little despot might, with each passing national-level loss -- for his, and Tangerine's odious agendas. Sit down already, man.

Gov. Abbott claims tonight to have the power to order otherwise very capably-run early childhood education centers to close, if they are aiding undocumented children.

. . .Nationwide, there are now about 17,000 unaccompanied children, according to data provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. But it’s unclear how many of those children are in state licensed facilities in Texas, as opposed to unlicensed emergency sites such as the one that just closed in Dallas or the site at Fort Bliss Army base in El Paso that can hold up to 10,000 unaccompanied migrant children and teens.

Denying the Biden administration use of the state-licensed shelters could force more of the children to be held at U.S. Customs and Border Protection stations – facilities deemed unsuitable for children. . . .

So, in the last few weeks in Texas: (i) so-called "heartbeat prohibitions" on abortion, (ii) radical attempts to supress black and brown voting, (iii) ultimately impotent, but "dead-handed" state-level attempted vetos of national immigration law, and now. . . (iv) wanton cruelty to the most vulnerable homeless (primarily brown) children our nation has ever hosted. Charming.

This is no. . . man. This is. . . a monster, dressed as a latter day dictator. Soon his time (like Baby-T's before him) will be at an end. The federal courts will clip his ears, and tail -- right quick. Out, and grinning -- just the same. Sad little man.

There is a reason that God put him in his wheelchair. Shame he has not learned his lesson.

Oh my. That is one tart. . . observation. And you are correct, that he was once a very athletic young man:

"...On July 14, 1984, at age 26, Abbott was paralyzed below the waist when an oak tree fell on him while he was jogging following a storm. He had two steel rods implanted in his spine, underwent extensive rehabilitation at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston and has used a wheelchair ever since...."

Even so, I personally don't ascribe to the theory of a vengeful Infinite force (warning -- irrelevant personal story follows).

I do completely agree, based on my experiences with a very dear high school girlfriend who, at age 16 -- after being thrown from her horse -- also has spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair. . . that one might expect a learned humility (Virginia was a champion rodeo rider). . . now a professor of letters (as karma would have it, in Texas).

He seems to have missed the humilty part of whatever the lesson was, though -- true.

Thanks. . . and be excellent to one another -- as I believe we are all we've got!
