Power Alley: Kenilworth Promotes Its Long Serving Treasurer, Effective April 1 -- To CFO And EVP...

This move continues "the diversifying" -- of the very tip-top of the executive suite at Merck, from inside the life sciences company's formidible array of talent. As Mr. Frazier moves out, to new worlds, likely in the non-profit arena -- and Mr. Davis ascends to parts of that role. . . the CFO seat was in need of back-filling. And this is a very smart choice -- she's immensely capable. She's been at Merck since 1990, so a little over 30 years. Home grown.

Here's the bit, from MarketWatch:

. . .Merck has named Caroline Litchfield as its chief financial officer [and EVP] effective April 1, replacing Robert M. Davis, who will become president effective April 1 and chief executive on July 1. Litchfield is currently Merck's treasurer, overseeing treasury, tax and investor relations. The executive joined Merck in 1990 and has held various positions at the company. . . .

I continue to hope that Mr. Davis is up to the roles he's being handed -- but candidly, I have my doubts. We shall see. Onward -- grinning. . . ever grinning.
