The Supremes just struck (a 138 page PDF of the decision) the Texas-like Louisiana law that purported to require admitting privileges for doctors performing abortions. The Court struck it, essentially saying it already invalidated the same sort of attempt in Texas (word for word), as violating the constitution's implied rights of privacy, and autonomy over one's own body.
So we wait, until tomorrow -- for other potential May-argued cases, including Trump's financial records.
Onward.

some good news, some not so good; they are allowing executions to go forward-ugh.
Hope all are well...
True enough, Anon. -- and yet, bit by bit, Chief Justice Roberts. . . is floating toward the Kennedy role: inexorably. . . toward the middle.
Maybe it is just that the Kavanaugh/Alito/Thomas wing is growing more reactionary. . . more irrationally hard-right, as well as willing to ignore clearly written Congressional mandates (and previous stare decisis). . . but I genuinely now think (after the DACA decision and the Bostock decision, especially) Roberts increasingly knows "history has her eyes on him" -- in the words of A. Hamilton. Smile. . . .
And so he increasingly sides with the well-written laws, in favor of. . . humanity.
Even so, the lethal injection ruling is a sad one -- as is the implied weakening of independent oversight chairs, in the other opinion from this morning's releases. A small victory for Trump -- he may fire the chair, should he choose to.
But that also means any future Democratic President may lawfully do the same.
Onward, and thanks -- we are hale and hearty here!
On a different note, and may I say-please do~~; https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-fragile-mood-may-drop-152718908.html
Thanks, Anon. --
It would please me immensely -- as he has shown himself to be a true quitter, when he knows he's bested. . . but I think he will only (willingly) do so if the polls are still this bad, by late September -- then leaving a scramble, to either nominate Pence, or some other. . . and a monumental GOP loss would be all but certain.
If he is going to do it, the next few weeks would be the best possible time, from the GOP's down-ticket chances. . . but I doubt he will. [Fun thought: might the regular GOP simply mutiny, and remove him by a straw poll vote -- pre-Convention?]
In any event, cannot stomach the idea of a Pence presidency -- because it is only Trump's vast incompetence that has saved us, from far worse measures -- ones Pence would be more capably able to impose on us all.
So, unless Pence goes, too. . . I'd now rather see him just outright trounced, along with his down-ticket enablers -- come November.
Namaste. . . .
