Merck's [Slowly] Revolving Door -- At CIO Office -- Continues...

He apparently bounces around quite a bit, never staying too long in one place. Coke, then Nike, then Merck -- now Marriott (and so. . . likely no reflection on Merck culture). I am certain he's a very capable, and affable executive. He's also a full board member of Black & Decker. [Prior one, from October 2018, announcing his arrival from Nike.] I do wonder whether Merck will go outsside for his replcement, or promote from within, this time. Hmm.

In any event, here is the blurb from Forbes reporting:

. . .Yesterday, Marriott International, Inc. announced the appointment of Jim Scholefield as Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), effective February 24. The CIDO role is new to Marriott. He succeeds Marriott’s current Chief Information Officer Bruce Hoffmeister, who announced his decision to retire after 30 years with Marriott last September 2019, and will stay on through mid-2020 to help with the transition.

Scholefield’s responsibilities will include leading all aspects of the company’s information technology and digital strategies. Scholefield will report to Stephanie Linnartz, Group President, Consumer Operations, Technology & Emerging Businesses. . . .

Most recently, Scholefield was Chief Information and Digital Officer at one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Merck & Co. He led Merck’s information technology and digital strategy to drive efficiencies, strengthen the security of the infrastructure and support the company’s growth. . . .

Onward, grinning -- on a bright but chilly Chicago morning. . . Roger Stone learns his fate / sentence duration in about 20 hours, now.
