Update -- Easter Sunday night:
". . .Concerning the current physical location and custodial status of Kilmar Abrego García, I am able to provide a partial update. With reference to the recent visit of Sen. Chris Van Hollen to El Salvador, our Embassy reported that Abrego García told Sen. Van Hollen on April 17 that he had been transferred from CECOT to the detention facility “Centro Industrial” in Santa Ana about eight days prior. Abrego García told Sen. Van Hollen that he had been placed in the administrative building of Centro Industrial, in a room of his own with a bed and furniture, and that he was not in a cell. . . ."
As though this mitigates the FACT that he is STILL held unlawfully, by Trump's own admissions. It only exacerbates the due process violation. End update.
In tonight's one page of sophistry, he allows that he might have read a newspaper, or seen a TV newscast, since last night -- about his charge. But that's all. Damn:
. . .I am aware of public reporting suggesting that Mr. Abrego Garcia may no longer be at the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT). Otherwise, there is still nothing further to report. . . .
He's supposed to FIND OUT where he is, and take steps to bring him home. The Supremes were clear, a week ago -- and even more clear after midnight last night -- in a nearly unprecedented 1 AM EDT opinion on the Venezuela matter -- issued, to the press -- without waiting for Alito's usual nonsense dissent. [Alito will have to file his turgid belching separately -- on Sunday or Monday.]
Me? I think it is good that this Mazzaro joker was once a US Marine -- he's reputedly "double tough" -- so he'll get along fine in the now approaching federal lockup -- in Baltimore. Out.
