Much Of The GOP Questioning Of KBJ Has Been... Appalling.

Appalling, and unlawful.

Sen. Graham (GOP) asking whether she'd be comfortable judging a Catholic, in particular -- has no place in the ordered liberty and checks and balances of our nation, as properly understood.

She said she was a non-denominational protestant, but he felt the need to push about religous bigotry -- apparently since he. . . is such a bigot.

Damn. Just. . . damn. But mark my words: she will be confirmed. Bank on it.

From a woman who would know, and know well -- Anita Hill, Professor of Law, Brandeis University:

". . .Gotcha questions like how to define a woman, asked by Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R), have no place in the hearing room, and fall short of what should be expected of the Senate during its exercise of its advice and consent role.

The same is true of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R) focus on how critical race theory is supposedly being taught in the private school on whose board Jackson sits.

A confirmation hearing should be about learning how a person will judge, not how well she handles specious browbeating. . . .
"

Indeed. She will shine as a Justice -- and history will write these other two down, as ugly vestiges of a dying, and hateful age, in America.
