UPDATED Kenilworth Information: Partial Sale; Partial Closure Of Legacy Schering-Plough HQ

Our sincere condolences go to the anonymous comment poster -- and all others -- who were told they are now no longer employed by New Merck, today. Here is a first hand report, of the all-hands' meeting:

The way it was explained to us (1 of the 580 being let go) They are closing every building on site, except one research building that they are dumping the $120 million into, and selling off the rest of the space. The size of the site will be about 1/4 what it is now. Fred's old office building will be gone by 2013 a few other buildings are already vacant. That nj.com story makes this seem like a good thing.

We will, of course, keep tabs on this.

Interesting. I hear the Merial-Intervet HQ is still looking for a place to live . . .

Indeed -- maybe there will be an "in-laws' apartment" arrangement, eh?

Somehow, I don't see the Sanofi half agreeing to pay an exorbidant sum to the New Merck half, in order to secure these palatial digs -- on the dog-tick collar budget.

But as ever, we shall see. Do stop back, and thanks for the input!

Namaste
