Merck Pays $28 Million To Settle Hawaii Wholesale Drug Overcharges Suit

Per CNBC's reporting, tonight:

. . . .The companies allegedly inflated wholesale prices of drugs bought by the state for Medicaid prescriptions for needy individuals.

About half of the money will go into the state's general budget, and the rest will compensate the federal government for its share of the damages.

Merck & Co., the country's second-largest drug manufacturer, will pay $28 million. . . .

This follows the news in Massachusetts, from just last week.
