I wonder whether this is wire-item will serve as "a canary in the coal mine", from Whitehouse Station -- they were always going to need to find additional savings -- beyond those mentioned at merger/bust-up time:

We'll see whether the report is
resurrected in September 2011 (after the would-be "reassessment"), or whether it vanishes into the mists of time. I'll let you know, then. [I guess this is what I get for expressing hope for a brighter day, at New Merck, back at the end of September 2009.]
