Via "Integration", Merck's Indian Subsidiaries Get New Leadership

In India, Merck Sharpe & Dohme, the subsidiary through which Merck conducts its business in that country, has promoted its former in-country managing director, Naveen Rao, to head all medical affairs in the Asia Pacific region, and has given the then-vacated in-country spot to a former Organon/Schering-Plough candidate:

. . . .[Former Organon] Managing Director KG Ananthakrishnan has taken over as the head of the US-based Merck’s subsidiary in India — MSD — as part of an ongoing integration process. . . .

Merck India’s outgoing Managing Director Naveen Rao has been promoted as the head of medical affairs for the company’s Asia Pacific region covering 13 countries. "In his new capacity, Mr. Ananthakrishnan will lead all three legacy entities in India — Fulford, Organon and MSD," a company spokeswoman said. . . .

I know -- it is of little moment, but that is what is on the wires, under Merck, at the moment. In a perhaps related development, Saatchi & Saatchi has won the right to handle all of Merck's creative spend in the Asia-Pacific region (according to MediaAsia).

Tomorrow I will be in transit (in the air, mostly), and off-the-grid for most of the day, but remember that FDA's Advisory Committee on Pediatric Medicines will meet on pediatric Vytorin/Zetia labeling, first thing -- at 8:15 AM EST.

Hey you… 14 minutes ago — but this was a year after you chose a spouse. We were out of touch. Cheers.
