In truly egalitarian fashion, Mr. Husten's CardioBrief item copiously mentions this blog as one of the sources for his story, thus:
. . . .One potentially explosive new development: the document includes many details based on testimony from several insiders within Schering-Plough, though for now these confidential witnesses remain anonymous. . . .
Larry also runs a pull-quote from press relations in Kenilworth, to the effect that "the company will ultimately be vindicated. . . ."
Well, I think that's rather unlikely. You see, it was largely the mismanagement of the disappointing ENHANCE results, and the delayed disclosures of the same, that forced Schering-Plough into the bust-up transaction with Merck.
So, if by "vindicated", Kenilworth means "disappeared". . . then yes -- I guess I concur. It likely won't even exist any longer (and certainly not in its present form), by mid-2010. So, winking out of existence equals vindication -- in CEO Hassan's mind? Fascinating.
[Errata -- I had originally misspelled Mr. Husten's last name, inexplicably inserting an "r" where none exists. It was a late-night, and after date-night, at the movies, but that is no excuse. My sincere apologies.]
