Where Will Schering-Plough's Presumably-Departing GC Next Pop Up?

Okay -- file this one deeply underneath the rumor mill-pond. . . .

But with the new structural announcements -- out of Whitehouse Station, earlier this week -- setting no EC role at "New Merck" for Schering-Plough GC Sabatino, will this ex-Baxter GC return to Baxter -- now that the current Baxter GC is resigning for "undisclosed reasons"?

Seems unlikely -- but not impossible, per this Chicago Tribune story:

. . . . Chicago Law scoop: Susan Lichtenstein, general counsel of Baxter International Inc., is leaving the health-care company. Lichtenstein is a well-known lawyer in Chicago. . . .

She's been at Baxter since March 2005, according to the company's Web site. Before joining the company, she was general counsel to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. . . .

Update: Baxter spokeswoman Deborah Spak confirmed that Lichtenstein, 52 years old, announced her departure internally on Monday. Lichtenstein told colleagues that she will be pursuing new professional challenges but did not provide details about her plans, Spak said. . . .

As ever -- stranger things have happened -- so, we shall see.
