To be sure, people (far more often than even two decades ago, in pharma) do change seats. . . but it is gratifying to see Merck ready to go with the replacement SVP at head of research, just the same.
So, now the question becomes. . . where is Novartis's former head of research going to pop up next? Jay Bradner is stepping down after seven years as research head at the Swiss drugmaker. [It is all sort of a slow motion version of the game of "Where's Waldo". . . smile.]
Time till tell. But as ever, Mr. John Carroll is on the spot, thus:
. . .Just hours after Novartis flagged a big change at the top of NIBR -- with Jay Bradner exiting and offering his post on the executive committee to Merck’s Fiona Marshall -- Merck was ready with a switch as well. . . .
George Addona first came to Merck in 2008, as part of what was then called MRL -- in the chemical biology group. So he is a long term insider. . . .
Both the news and the graphic here, dovetail nicely with our post on people of yesterday morning. Grin. . . have a great long weekend, one and all -- barbeques; and walks by the lake with tiny foot-falls pattering alongside, all in store here. . . and all grand, grand grand. . . smile.
